Nicki Rivera
Founder & Creative Director, Sugarbowl
Nicki is the founder and creative force behind Sugarbowl, a multidisciplinary production company dedicated to original work across publishing, film, visual art, and live experiences. With a graduate degree in Communication Studies from CSULB, Nicki spent a decade as a college instructor, where she developed a deep love for ethnographic research and storytelling — a passion that now shapes Sugarbowl’s creative mission.
After years of running a boutique real estate brokerage, Nicki launched Sugarbowl as a much-needed creative outlet, inspired by the artistry and encouragement of friends Ashley and Julie and her partner, Caleb.
A Long Beach local and mom of three daughters, Nicki draws inspiration from travel (with unforgettable experiences in Cuba, Cambodia, and Belize), skateboarding, and spending time with her kids. Through Sugarbowl, she channels her playful, curious spirit into projects that invite people to feel, reflect, and connect in surprising ways.
